TAYLOR — An assistant manager for First Merchants Bank, 7146 Pelham Road, reported that during the afternoon of June 4 a woman came in and tried to cash a $9,100 check, which the teller immediately recognized as being fraudulent.
The woman trying to cash the check presented a Pennsylvania driver’s license.
When the check wasn’t cashed in five minutes, the woman walked out of the bank and left the fraudulent check behind, and it was subsequently given to police officials and logged into evidence.
