WYANDOTTE — A traffic stop near Fort Street and Ford Avenue resulted in the driver’s arrest for operating while intoxicated, carrying a concealed weapon and drug possession.
The driver had bloodshot eyes and smelled strongly of intoxicants. They also had a rifle-style firearm positioned between their leg and the vehicle’s center console.
The driver failed standardized field sobriety tests. A preliminary breath test was administered, and the driver’s blood-alcohol content was twice the 0.08 limit for legally drunk in Michigan.
A vehicle search revealed a bag containing unlabeled pills, as well as a loaded AR-style pistol, which is a semi-automatic handgun.
