MELVINDALE — A large tree from the city easement fell on a house in the 17400 block of Wood Avenue the evening of July 3, causing significant structural damage.
The two occupants of the house, a 67-year-old woman and her 30-year-old disabled daughter, were unharmed and evacuated from the house, with a relative picking them up to take them to a different location.
The house was barricaded by Department of Public Works employees until further work could be done.
The tree also fell on a neighboring house, but did not do any structural damage.
