TAYLOR — A woman reported June 25 that her late ex-husband’s white 2025 Ford F-150 was stolen by one of his heirs before probate cleared.
The vehicle was entered into the Law Enforcement Information Network as stolen, which triggered an alert June 26 when it was brought to Crest Ford in Flat Rock for an appraisal.
A Taylor police officer went to the dealership and had the vehicle towed to the Taylor impound lot, where it was placed on hold pending the probate outcome.
The complainant cautioned that the heir who had taken the vehicle might try to retrieve it again since they had the same legal name as the deceased, which was subsequently noted in the paperwork.
