ALLEN PARK — A woman reported that a person claiming to be from her credit union called her stating that there was a fraud attempt on her account and that she needed to provide them with images of her driver’s license and credit cards to resolve the issue.
She said she complied, and immediately charges were posted to her accounts. She then called her credit union at another phone number, and they were able to lock down and secure her accounts and reverse the fraudulent charges.
She was told to contact the Secretary of State office to flag her identification as well, and to forward copies of the police report to her other financial institutions and credit agencies.
