ALLEN PARK — A man who was picking up an order at Home Depot, 3163 Fairlane Drive, took a detour to select a Milwaukee flat brim snapback cap, which he put on his head, hiding the tag, and left the store wearing it without rendering payment.

The man, a white male, was 6 feet, 1 inch tall, about 180 pounds, with brown hair and a short beard. He was wearing a light gray Carhartt hoodie, dark gray pants with paint stains and black shoes.

While a loss prevention employee initially tried to detain him, he threatened to beat up the employee, and had a visible knife in his possession.

He fled the scene in a newer black Kia Telluride with a tinted cover on the license plate that prevented surveillance cameras from reading it.
