ALLEN PARK — A Chevy HHR filled with tools was stolen from a local parking lot where it had been left because the owner was unable to start it.
The victim initially thought it had been towed as an abandoned vehicle, but after reporting the missing SUV to police officials, they discovered that none of the local tow companies listed it as impounded in the Law Enforcement Information Network.
The vehicle was then entered into LEIN as stolen.
