Craft and collectible show to benefit students
ALLEN PARK — The Allen Park High School PTA/PTSA Council will sponsor the 2009 Spring Fever Craft and Collectible Show with both live and silent auctions from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the high school, 18401 Champaign. Each year the council sponsors Spring Fever to raise money for seniors graduating from the high school and the Community School. To date the council has awarded $250,000 in scholarships. Department to receive three new SUVs
ALLEN PARK — The City Council recently approved the purchase of three new Chevrolet Tahoes for use by the Police Department. Police Chief Dean Tamsen said only Chevrolet offers pursuit-rated sport utility vehicles. One of the new vehicles will be used for the K-9 unit, one by the weighmaster and one by the road supervisor. Tamsen said the old weighmaster vehicle was auctioned recently because of high mileage and continuously was breaking down, requiring constant maintenance.
