He noticed it missing that morning. Police were told that a black or dark blue new model pickup truck was seen driving behind the location with its lights off. Taylor Schools $130 million bond approved By ZEINAB NAJM Sunday Times Newspapers Dearborn Heights District 7 and Allen Park Public Schools passed millage renewals while Taylor Public Schools voters approved a $130 million improvement bond proposition in the Nov. 2 general election. The bond proposal was approved with 5,617 votes in favor and 4,550 votes against. A new millage rate would be a 2.71-mill increase for a 3.67-mill school tax. By ZEINAB NAJM Sunday Times Newspapers TAYLOR — City Council Chairman Tim Woolley won the mayoral election in Taylor after receiving 5,556 votes Nov. 2, according to the unofficial results. His opposition, state Rep. Alex Garza (D-12th District) finished with 4,434 votes. There were a total of 915 write-in votes which may have been for Mayor Rick Sollars who ran a write-in campaign. State budget gives Taylor FD $500,000 for new apparatus
TAYLOR — The Fire Department will receive $500,000 for apparatus in a budget passed by the state House that includes investments in health care, child care and infrastructure.
