LINCOLN PARK – The Lincoln Park Preservation Alliance has created its own online newsletter. Preservation In The Park, which takes cues from other local cyberpublications such as Model D and Metromode, will be e-mailed to subscribers on the first day of every month. The newsletter will contain LPPA monthly meeting and event notifications, as well as other information pertaining to historic preservation. Pot luck fundraiser to benefit alliance
LINCOLN PARK – The Lincoln Park Preservation Alliance will hold a pot luck fundraiser at 6:30 p.m. March 27 at Ikaros Hall, 1677 Fort Street. A door donation of $10 is requested, but will be reduced to $5 for those who bring a dish to pass. Beverages will be provided. Organizers promise food, fun and good conversation, with funds raised going to alliance projects. Four survive carbon monoxide poisoning incident
LINCOLN PARK — Firefighters rescued a family of four who had suffered carbon monoxide poisoning Monday night. A 32-year-old man living at a house in the 1500 block of Ferris called about 11 p.m. to say that he was not feeling well and was concerned about three other people in the house, including a 29-year-old woman and two boys ages 10 and 7. The woman was in critical condition when firefighters arrived, and the boys were unable to move; all three were unconscious. The Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce recently named Tijuana’s Mexican Kitchen, 1679 Dix, as its Business of the Month. The restaurant was chosen by popular vote through [email protected]. Owner Marisa Garcia started by catering from her home in 1991 and opened her first full-service kitchen in Detroit in 1995. The business moved to its Lincoln Park location in 2003.
