The evening will feature hors d’oeuvres, champagne and wine beginning at 6 p.m. with a performance of the Guild’s “Fiddler on the Roof” at 7:15 p.m. Coffee and dessert will be served during intermission.
Tickets are $50. All gross proceeds will be donated to the Michael A. Guido Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund of the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. A portion is tax-deductible. A supporter and friend of the arts in Dearborn, Guido also was an honorary lifetime member of the Guild, where he appeared on stage in many productions.
According to the National Cancer Institute, cancer of the pancreas is diagnosed in more than 29,000 people every year in the United States. It is the fifth leading cause of cancer death, yet research continues to advance and help those diagnosed with a better quality of life.
“Fiddler on the Roof” also will run for four weekends at the Guild Theatre April 24 to 26, May 1 to 3, 8 to 10, and 15 to 17. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8 p.m., with 2:30 p.m. Sunday matinees. Tickets may be purchased online on the Guild Web site or via the Guild ticket line.
The Players Guild of Dearborn is a non-profit, all-volunteer corporation. In existence since 1927, it is one of Michigan’s oldest community theaters.
