‘Phantom’ Coming to Detroit’s Opera House
Theater lovers, a treat is in store. “The Phantom of the Opera” – one of the shows theater lovers adore – is coming to OUR opera house Sept. 8 to 27! Imagine the fantastic music and vocals in the acoustically superb Detroit Opera House!
“The Phantom of the Opera” tells the story of the masked figure lurking beneath the catacombs of the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all who inhabit it. He falls madly in love with an innocent young soprano, Christine, and devotes himself to creating a new star by nurturing her extraordinary talents and by employing all of the devious methods at his command. However, Christine is in love with another man. How far will the Phantom go to prove his love?
The winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, “The Phantom of the Opera” has played to larger audiences and in longer engagements than any other musical in history. Its 20 years on Broadway also have shattered records.
Ticket sales begin next Sunday, and may be purchased at the Fisher Theatre box office, all Ticketmaster locations, online at www.ticketmaster.com, www.BroadwayInDetroit.com or by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 982-2787. Go to the official Web site www.thephantomoftheopera.com.
