Department reopens, offers back-to-school physicals, immunizations, testing

DEARBORN –  The city Health Department’s summer closure ends when the department reopened for business Monday.

    The Health Department is inside the Henry Ford Centennial Library building, 16301 Michigan Ave. Its hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays and Fridays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays and 1:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays. The department is closed Thursdays.

    The department will offer back-to-school immunizations and physicals during special clinics held on Aug. 26, Sept. 2 and Oct. 7. At the clinics the Wayne County Health Department also will offer hearing, vision and blood lead testing.

    The clinics are open to all. There is a nominal fee for immunizations and physicals; hearing, vision and blood lead-level tests are free. Call (313) 943-2090 for more information.
