Michigan Yemen Sports Association wraps up season with ceremony

Dearborn Mayor John O’Reilly Jr. (center in polo shirt) congratulated the Michigan Yemen Sports Association at Lapeer Park on Sept. 27 at the final ceremony for MYSA’s annual summer season. More than 150 children and teens participated in the 2009 soccer program, as well as many adult players. Among those attending the ceremony were Mohamed Nasser, MYSA president; Dr. Kalid Kaid, business unit manager & Yemeni American Public Affairs Council endorsement chair; Sheikh Jamal Mojali, community activist; Sheikh Sadek Alhaddi, community activist; Abbas Khader, Dearborn Star Soccer team manager; Police Chief Ron Haddad; Recreation Director Greg Orner; and the first and second place adult soccer teams.
