DEARBORN – Academy Award winner Shirley Jones will perform with the 32-piece Hollywood Concert Orchestra at 3 p.m. March 7 at Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.
Tickets for “A Night at the Oscars” range from $30 to $40.
The orchestra will showcase selections from Oscar-winning movies including “ET,” “Forrest Gump” and “Gone With the Wind.” Jones will emcee the program and perform songs from her own classic musicals, such as “Music Man,” “Carousel” and “Oklahoma.”
Jones won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in “Elmer Gantry.” She is probably best known as Shirley Partridge, the widowed mother of five children in the sitcom “The Partridge Family,” which co-starred her stepson David Cassidy.
“A Night at the Oscars” is part of the 2009-10 professional season, which features a variety of shows at affordable prices. The season lineup also includes shows by local musical and performance groups.
