DEARBORN — For the second year in a row, Henry Ford Community College is teaming with the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce to sponsor the seasonal Dearborn Farmers and Artisans Market, which is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday until Oct. 29. The market is in the parking lot behind the Bryant Branch Library, 22100 Michigan Ave.
Staff from HFCC’s Child Activity Center will offer clay activities for kids Friday. The center offers day and evening child care for the children of students and staff of HFCC, as well as the public.
Every Friday, representatives from different HFCC departments will be at the farm market, showcasing HFCC programs, including “Going Green” tips from the Alternative Energy program, family literacy activities from the English and World Languages Division, free blood pressure screening from the Nursing program, bat house construction demonstrations from the Architectural Construction Technology program, and much more.
In addition, representatives from HFCC’s Enrollment and Development office will be at the market every Friday to distribute information about the college’s programs and student support services.
The farmers market offers Michigan-grown vegetables, fruit and flowers, and locally-produced baked goods and cheese, as well as arts and crafts by local artisans, entertainment and children’s activities.
