Sponsors make community event possible on Aug. 6-8
DEARBORN – Every year nearly 150,000 people, including Dearborn families, friends and guests, make Homecoming a key part of their summer lineup of fun.
But the annual festival and all its events – the fireworks, entertainment and activities – would not be possible without the support of its sponsors. These include businesses, community organizations and individuals.
This year topping the list of sponsors is the presenting sponsor, Oakwood Healthcare System.
Oakwood not just supporting the event, but will have a very visible presence at the festival by staffing a First Aid Station on the north side of the covered bridge and by leading stretching exercises during Elderfest on Friday.
Labatt Blue is the festival beer sponsor for the sixth year in a row.
Major sponsors are Kenwal Steel, which is co-sponsoring the fireworks on Sunday, Comerica, and Henry Ford Health System, which sponsors the free shuttles from Dearborn High School.
The 31st annual Homecoming festival, which is organized by the city of Dearborn, will take place at Ford Field Friday through Sunday.
It is a weekend-long celebration that features free live entertainment, including headliner Big Shot with Michael DelGuidice — the Ultimate Billy Joel Experience on Saturday; fireworks on Saturday and Sunday nights; carnival rides; reunions; historical re-enactments; sports contests; food and lots of free children’s activities.
As always, there is no admission to the festival.
