August 28, 2010 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

City Clerk Kelly Spence, 40, is resigning her position because she is moving to Algonac with her family.

A 1987 graduate of Melvindale High School, regulations prohibit Spence from being clerk if she is not a city resident. Her last day is Tuesday.

A junior clerk position with the city of Melvindale was posted online Aug. 22. The annual salary is listed as $30,825, and the requirements are U.S. citizenship, an associate degree and the ability to type 40 words per minute.

Those interested are asked to apply for the full-time position in person before Friday by submitting a resume and proof an associate degree was earned.
