October 9, 2010 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN — A free book discussion group series called “Classics Revisited” has returned this fall to the Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Ave.

All sessions are open to the public; no registration is required. Sessions are from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month through December in the third floor training room of the library.

The remaining schedule is:

Oct. 20 – “To Kill a Mockingbird” by (Nelle) Harper Lee — A girl confronts evil as her father unsuccessfully defends an innocent black man accused of raping a white woman. The book is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Nov. 17 – “Death of Ivan Ilyich” by Leo Tolstoy — This short novel tells the story of the life and death, at the age of 45, of a high-court judge in 19th century Russia.

Dec. 15 – “Prime of Miss Jean Brodie” by Muriel Sparks — A teacher at a girls’ school in Edinburgh during the 1930s comes into conflict with school authorities because of her unorthodox teaching methods.
