The public is invited to the city’s annual Tree-lighting Ceremony and Sing-Along at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 22. The free event is earlier than usual to coincide with the Festival of Trees. Both events are at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.
DEARBORN – The city’s annual Tree-Lighting Ceremony and Sing-Along at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Nov. 22 — earlier than usual this year.
The festivities are being held in conjunction with the Festival of Trees Holiday Season Exhibit, which is a fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation. The seasonal display runs Nov. 21 to 28 and a small admission charge is in effect, except for the evening of the sing-along.
The schedule of events for Nov. 22 is:
• 6:30 p.m. Dearborn High School Marching Band — Theater Circular Drive
• 6:30 p.m. Festival of Trees Holiday Season Exhibit — Hubbard Ballroom from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
• 7 p.m. Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and Sing-Along with Mayor John O’Reilly Jr. — Theater Circular Drive
• 7:30 p.m. Refreshments in the main lobby and a visit with Santa Claus in the Hubbard Ballroom
