ALLEN PARK — Approximately $150 cash was taken Monday from Little Caesars, 23110 Outer Drive, in an alleged armed robbery.
A black male in a silver mask walked into the store about 8 p.m. and pointed a black handgun at the employee operating the cash register and demanded the cash from the register, police said.
The employee placed $150 in $5 and $20 bills into a white plastic store bag and the man ordered the employee to open the second register. After realizing the second register was empty, the suspect left the store and ran into the parking lot.
A customer who witnessed the robbery told police he followed the suspect into the parking lot, and that the suspect pointed the gun at him and told him to back off, adding, “This is a robbery, don’t make it a murder.” The witness then saw the suspect run south of the store, through an opening in the wall and into a dark-colored compact car waiting on Hamilton.
The witness said he believed the car was parked facing west on Hamilton and was occupied by three or four people.
The suspect was described as about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 140 to 160 pounds.
He was wearing a black coat with the hood up, black pants, black shoes, a silver mask and black gloves.
No evidence was found at the scene and the suspect was not located. Two other employees were also in the store at the time.
