DEARBORN – A night intended to drown a man’s sorrows ended with his death following a drunken argument with a former co-worker.
Resident Perry Lee Beaubien, 46, allegedly was killed by resident Daniel Ray Aderhold, 36, about 11:30 p.m. Oct. 25 after the two men returned from a night at the bar. Both were maintenance workers in the Village Park apartments, where they also lived.
Beaubien recently had lost his job with the apartment complex, and Aderhold told police the two men had gone to two bars together the night Beaubien died.
Both men returned to Beaubien’s apartment, at which point they began to argue before Aderhold allegedly hit Beaubien with a baseball bat several times, knocking him to the floor, where Aderhold allegedly continued the assault by kicking Beaubien and smashing his head against the ground. Aderhold then allegedly dragged Beaubien’s body to an upstairs bathroom and put him in the bathtub.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner listed the cause of death as multiple blunt-force trauma.
Aderhold now faces the possibility of life in prison for second-degree murder.
He was arraigned Oct. 28 in 19th District Court before Judge William Hultgren and will return to the courtroom Friday for a preliminary examination of the evidence against him.
