Rotary Santa Snaps returns to Light Fest

November 27, 2010 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

The Rotary Club of Dearborn will hold its annual Santa Snaps outreach and community service project through Dec. 23 at the end of the Wayne County Light Fest on Hines Drive.

Photos are $7.

Money raised is used for Rotary projects including scholarships for graduating high schools seniors, donations to programs that support education, the disabled and disadvantaged, seniors and many other local and international relief efforts.

Santa Snaps is a longstanding tradition that officials say has received rave reviews from toddlers who meet Santa for the first time. Over the years, Santa and his helpers have brought cheer to many a heart, including the couples who have chosen the event to stage surprise marriage proposals on Santa’s lap.

Santa often is assisted by student volunteers from high school Interact clubs in Dearborn.
