January 29, 2011 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

Since 1999 the Advanced Technology Academy has provided a unique education opportunity to residents of southeast Michigan.

The academy’s mission is to provide students with a high-quality interdisciplinary learning experience that is academically challenging. Students are problem solvers, effective at written and oral communication and are critical thinkers.

The academy partners with the community, businesses and institutes of higher education to create a learning environment that prepares students for success in college and professional careers.

For more than 10 years, the Advanced Technology Academy has provided outstanding educational training for students seeking a professional career in business, education, engineering, health care, public service and technology. The school has been continually chartered from its inception by Lake Superior State University and in 2006 received accreditation from the North Central Commission on Accreditation.

The academy also has been recognized by the US News and World Report as one of America’s best high schools.
