Budget hearing rescheduled to June 6

DEARBORN – The City Council rescheduled a public hearing for the proposed fiscal year 2012 budget for 6 p.m. June 6.

June 7 at 5:30 p.m. is the date to adopt the budget and set the tax rate for fiscal year 2012, which begins July 1.

Residents are invited to attend both meetings, which will be in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, 13615 Michigan Ave.

The remaining budget sessions, which are also open to the public, are:

• May 24, 5:30 p.m., Mayor’s Conference Room: Police and fire

• May 25, 6 p.m., Mayor’s Conference Room: Historical museum, intergovernmental cooperation and pending tax cases.
