October 8, 2011 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN – The city will host an open house from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the combined sewer overflow control site on Military Street, north of Michigan Avenue.

The open house will showcase plans for the restoration of the floodplain and wetlands associated with the CSO site.

Public tours of the CSO control facility will be offered and exhibits will explain the environmental benefits of the project.

There also will be a short program at 10 a.m. about the purpose of the CSO project in controlling pollution in the Rouge River and improving the natural habitat in and around the waterway.

Speakers will include government, agency, and community partners who have contributed to the pollution control project and restoration of the natural habitat.

For more information about the open house, call (313) 943-2285.
