Radiothon for THAW

January 28, 2012 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

Volunteers from local businesses and community organizations worked the phones during a 31-hour Winter Survival Radiothon, hosted by WWJ Newsradio 950. The ninth annual event raised money for The Heat and Warmth Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides emergency energy assistance for low-income residents unable to pay their bills. The event Friday and Saturday at The Henry Ford, 20900 Oakwood Blvd., sought to raise $1.6 million in donations and dollar-for-dollar matching from DTE Energy after generating about $430,000 in 2011. Above, JPMorgan Chase Commercial Deposit Officer Larry Joseph writes down a donation during the radiothon’s first day.
