Heights Goodfellows taking annual newspaper photo Oct. 8

September 30, 2012 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

HEIGHTS — Volunteers from across the city are encouraged to gather next month for inclusion into the front page picture that will adorn the upcoming Dearborn Heights Goodfellows newspaper.

The photograph will be taken during the organization’s general membership meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Dearborn Heights Justice Center, 25637 Michigan Ave.

“I hope everyone comes out and participates in this symbolic stand as a show of strength for this great organization,” Goodfellows President Donald Rivard said. “We’re in our 84th year, and it’s easy to make a buck. It’s a lot tougher to make a difference. Please join us.”

The Goodfellows’ annual “No Child Without a Christmas” special edition newspaper will be sold for donations at select locations on Nov. 30, and Dec. 1. Proceeds from the sale of the newspaper will help the Goodfellows provide food and other gifts to the city’s less fortunate residents later in December.

Anyone seeking more information about the Dearborn Heights Goodfellows can call Rivard at 313-565-3411 or e-mail [email protected]
