Voters picked more than a president Tuesday. In state House of Representatives races, many incumbents retained their seats.
In the 12th District, which includes part of Taylor and Allen Park, incumbent Democrat Douglas A. Geiss defeated Republican Joanne Michalik with 11,461 votes to her 2,807.
In the 13th District, including parts of Allen Park, Lincoln Park, Southgate and Dearborn Heights, incumbent Democrat Andrew Kandrevas received 25,495 votes, defeating Republican Tony Amorose 13,995.
In the 14th District, comprising parts of Wyandotte, Riverview, Lincoln Park and Melvindale, Democratic incumbent Paul Clemente got 21,504 votes, beating out Republican Edward Gubics with 7,447 and Libertarian Loel Robert Gnadt with 986.
In the 23rd District, which includes part of Trenton, Republican incumbent Pat Somerville defeated Democrat Tom Boritzki with 20,717 votes to Boritzki’s 20,015.
