Volunteers sought to help seniors with tax forms

November 11, 2012 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN – The Dearborn Senior Citizens Division is looking for volunteers to help seniors and low-income residents prepare their federal and Michigan income tax form in early 2013.

A week of training is provided in January to volunteers, who do not need experience in tax preparation. Computer experience is helpful.

The training will be conducted at the Dearborn Senior Center, inside the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.

This long running program — called Tax-Aide — is a no-cost, volunteer consulting service sponsored by the American Association for Retired People.

To sign up as a volunteer, call 313-673-3453 before the end of 2012.
