ALLEN PARK – Police here are looking for two suspects who allegedly beat and robbed a Flat Rock man at a house in the 14000 block of Southfield about 9:30 a.m. April 1.
The man reported about 9:30 a.m. Monday that two acquaintances, a 17-year-old Allen Park boy and a 20-year-old Flat Rock man, attacked him and robbed him of $1,000 cash two days prior.
The victim, who suffered multiple fractures to his jaw, said he had the cash from a recent tax refund check. He said the Allen Park boy, who drove him, saw it when he pulled it out to pay for cigarettes during a stop at a gas station on the way to the house of a mutual friend.
After drinking inside the house for several hours, the man said the 20-year-old and 17-year-old told him to give him the money before beating him with closed fists.
During the struggle, the money fell out of the man’s pockets and he yelled to the alleged attackers that they could have it, but they continued punching him before dragging him up the basement stairs and throwing him out a side door, yelling “don’t be a bitch and snitch on us.”
The victim ran to a nearby restaurant where he called a friend who drove him to Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital for treatment.
He told police the homeowner witnessed the entire attack and did nothing to stop it.
Allen Park Police Department officials did not return phone calls seeking comment by press time.
