Police seek flasher suspect

May 5, 2013 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

WYANDOTTE – Police here are looking for a man that allegedly exposed his genitals to a woman walking near Oak and Fifth April 28.

According to the police report, the resident reported about 5 p.m. that day that hours earlier she was walking west on Oak when the man, described as black, about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall with a stocky build and a beard or goatee, approached her from the opposite direction.

When he came closer, she said she realized his genitals were exposed. She walked past him and she said he followed her. She attempted to contact police, she said, but her cell phone was not working properly. Minutes later, she noticed the man had turned and fled in an unknown direction.

The man was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, a tan or light-colored work coat and black pants.

Officers checked the area and several nearby group homes. They spoke with a man, a resident at one of the group homes, who has a history of such behavior. He told him he had been walking in the area at the time, but denied seeing the woman or exposing himself to her.
