LINCOLN PARK — Police continue investigating the stabbing death of a 25-year-old man who’d only lived in the city for about a year.

According to police, Jimmie Lee Walker, originally from Ohio, had moved to Detroit several years ago. Last year he began renting a house in the 1000 block of Gorman.

Police had been called to the scene shortly after 2 a.m. Aug. 1, by friends of Walker’s whom he’d contacted. The friends had called 911 and police arrived to find Walker, deceased, in the bedroom. Walker did not provide any clues as to his assailant to his friends.

An autopsy on Aug. 2 concluded that Walker had died from multiple stab wounds.

Detectives have spoken with Walker’s friends and neighbors, and at the scene had identified the likely knife used in the homicide among other evidence.

The investigation continues, and anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Park police at 313-381-1800.
