Senior day trip to Shipshewana scheduled for May 20

HEIGHTS — The city Parks & Recreation Department offers a day trip May 20 to Shipshewana, Ind., for residents 55 and over and for non-resident Senior Citizen Club members.

Cost is $21 Dearborn Heights residents, $23 non-resident club members. Registration runs through May 13 on a first-come-first-served basis.

Participants will travel by Deluxe Motor Coach. Departure will be at 7 a.m. from Berwyn Senior Center, 26155 Richardson, and 7:15 a.m. from Eton Senior Center, 4900 Pardee. Approximate return time is 8 p.m.

Shipshewana is home to the largest flea market in the Midwest, featuring hundreds of vendors. Downtown features more than 75 specialty shops.

The trip also will include a stop at a Cracker Barrel for dinner.
