Food trucks return in 2014, adding to the food selection and supporting Dearborn nonprofits
Non-profit groups to benefit from the sales; traditional food booths still in operation
DEARBORN – A popular attraction when introduced at the 2013 Homecoming festival, a variety of food trucks will return to the Food Court area at this year’s festival, Friday through Sunday at Ford Field Park, 22051 Cherry Hill.
From 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, and from noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, attendees can find unique edible options to tempt their taste buds.
Food trucks confirmed for 2014 are:
Friday
• Treat Dreams: gourmet ice cream, brownies
• Detroit BBQ: brisket, ribs
• Rollin Stone: wood fired pizza
• Shimmy Shack: vegetarian sliders, fries, chili, nachos, shakes
• Pita Post: gourmet pita sandwiches
• Buffy’s: burgers, Mexican cuisine
• Chicken Coupe: chicken and waffles
• Smokey Rhodes BBQ: ribs, brisket, pulled pork
Saturday
• Treat Dreams: gourmet ice cream, brownies
• Concrete Cuisine: soups, sandwiches, fried food
• Detroit BBQ: brisket and ribs
• Mean Weenie: gourmet hot dogs
• Chicken Coupe: chicken and waffles
• Shimmy Shack: vegetarian sliders, fries, chili, nachos, shakes
• Smokey Rhodes BBQ: ribs, brisket, pulled pork
Sunday

Additional food trucks may be on hand during the festival.
Dearborn non-profit organizations will be receiving funds raised from sales at the food trucks.
In addition to the food trucks, the festival will still have many favorites available for purchase from booths operated by Dearborn non-profit groups.
Festival-goers can enjoy traditional ethnic dishes and entertainment at the Italian and Polish pavilions, as well as a variety of other delicious sandwiches in the Food Court including gyros, pita sandwiches, pulled pork and more.
The participating groups and highlights from their menus are:
• American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association: Senate Coney Island menu items, including loose hamburgers, gyros, and coney dogs
• Dearborn Firefighters Burn Drive: corn on the cob, orange drink
• Disabled American Veterans: Butterfly chips, corn dogs, elephant ears, lemonade, cotton candy
• Edsel Ford High School Adult Athletic Booster Club: Gonella’s Subs, walking tacos, pulled pork, hot dogs
• Exchange Club: Philly steak sandwiches, chicken fajitas, veggie pitas, gyros, BLTs, fries, fresh-squeezed lemonade, fruit smoothies
• Fordson Varsity Alumni Club: Gracie See’s pizza
• Italian American Fraternal Club of Dearborn: mostaciolli, sausage sandwich, pizza, gnocchi, cannoli, pane fritto
• PLAV Polish Legion of American Veterans: stuffed cabbage, pierogi, kielbasa, sauerkraut, potato pancakes, and other Polish food
First United Methodist Church will host a pancake breakfast from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Sunday in the Italian Pavilion. The breakfast features an all-you-can-eat menu of pancakes, sausage, milk, juice, and coffee. The price of admission is $7 for adults and $2 for children ages 5 through 12.
