Padzieski Gallery engages community with 100 x 50 fundraiser Thursday

DEARBORN — The Padzieski Gallery’s “100 X 50” project will celebrate the talent and variety of local artists with a charity fundraiser and a “First Look & Kick Off Party” from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Area artists including Mohamad Bazzi, Jerry Vile, Melanie Manos, Kevin Castile, Windy Weber, Joseph Marks, Ash Nowak and 100 other creatives were each given a 10-inch-square canvas to do anything they like and have contributed to the 100 pieces of art of all variety which will be available starting at $50 each for this fundraiser for gallery upgrades.

Tickets are $5 and include a silent auction, food, drinks, prizes and live music from guitarist Steve Jarosz and a 20 percent discount on art purchases at the opening. The show also includes a retrospective “Wall of History of The Padzieski Art Gallery.”

The “100 X 50” exhibition then opens free to the public Friday and runs through Sept. 26.

The gallery is inside the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave. Parking is free.
