Zeal Credit Union will host a free community shred day and canned food drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 19  at the credit union’s Westland branch, 35050 Ford Road. The document shredding event is open to the public with a limit of five bags or boxes of personal documents.  American Data Security Inc. will provide the shredding services. Participants are invited to bring donations of canned food items that will be donated to the Lighthouse Home Mission food bank in Westland.
