TAYLOR – Police have confirmed the name of a Taylor woman whose body was found on Beech Daly Road March 21, although the cause of death awaits toxicology reports.

Police Chief Mary Sclabassi said Jessica Marie Thomas, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene, although foul play was not likely.

Police responded about 4:30 a.m. and discovered the woman lying roadside near Haskell Street just north of Wick Road.

“She was not appropriately dressed for the weather,” Sclabassi said.

A missing person’s report reportedly was filed with police later that morning by Thomas’ family. Thomas was taken for an autopsy that was performed Wednesday by the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s office, and toxicology reports remain pending.
