DEARBORN – Detroit Jazz Festival president and artistic director Chris Collins will be the guest speaker at the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce Business Builder Series from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. July 21 at The Dearborn Inn.
Admission is $30 for chamber members and $45 for non-members through July 20, and $35 and $50, respectively, afterward. Registration is required and can be completed by going to www.DearbornAreaChamber.org or calling 313-584-6100.
The event is open to the public and will include breakfast and networking, followed by a presentation from Collins and a question and answer session with the audience.
Collins will share practical business expertise and the story behind the largest free jazz festival in the world.
“We are excited to have the opportunity to learn from one of the Detroit area’s most treasured success stories,” DACC President Jackie Lovejoy said.
In addition to running the festival, Collins is a professional jazz woodwind player who has toured throughout Japan, South Africa, Europe and North America as the leader of his own ensembles and as a featured soloist. He is also a professor and director of Jazz Studies at Wayne State University.
