Tickets available for 2017 Burn Drive Car Raffle

January 2, 2017 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN – Imagine cruising through the Motor City in a brand new 2017 Camaro with the title in your name. Or how about taking a $3,000 trip to Las Vegas?

Here’s the best part: You could be doing these things with the satisfaction that you also supported a great cause.

Enter the 2017 Dearborn Firefighters Burn Drive Car Raffle. The non-profit group’s wildly popular annual fundraiser is returning to town in style.

The big night is May 3, in the Hubbard Ballroom at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave. Festivities commence at 6 p.m. and drawing for prizes starts at 9 p.m.

First prize this year is a 2017 Camaro SS or $40,000. Second prize is a $3,000 trip to Las Vegas, and third prize is $750. There are many prizes beyond the top three, including Detroit Tigers ticket packages, University of Michigan football ticket packages and a golf trip.

Tickets for the event are $50 each and include one entry into the drawing for prizes.

The event has been a hit for nearly 30 years, said organizer and Dearborn Fire Capt. Steve Worden, because of the ticket’s value.

It includes admission to the party, an open bar, food, entertainment and a chance to win a prize.

In addition, a limit of 1,500 tickets is sold for the raffle, putting every attendee at reasonable odds to win a prize. After all, a one in 1,500 chance beats the current one in 900,000 chance of winning a $50,000 Powerball payout.

And, there is the moral payout of supporting a good cause. Proceeds from the fundraiser go directly to the Burn Drive and help sick children and needy families.

Tickets are available at all Dearborn Fire Stations. Attendance at the May 3 event is limited to people 21 and older.

Questions can be directed at Steve Worden at (313) 478-6761.
