Special instructions for participants in Edison Street Sale June 3

DEARBORN –Dearborn’s trash pickup schedule will be delayed by one day for the week of May 29 to June 2 due to the Memorial Day holiday, May 29.

Trash will be picked up on a Tuesday-to-Saturday schedule. For example, homes with Monday trash pickups will be serviced on Tuesday, homes with Tuesday trash pickups will be serviced on Wednesday, and so on.

Edison Street Sale special trash instruction

There are special instructions for residents in the Friday trash district in the Ford Historic Homes District on streets that usually participate in the Edison Street Sale, which is June 3.

To allow for the better flow of traffic on the morning of the street sale, the city’s trash contractor will be picking up trash on Friday afternoon in that district only. The contractor will return early on Saturday morning to pick up additional trash set out. The streets most affected are Edison, Gregory, Francis, Beech, Olmstead and Nowlin.

City buildings closed

The Dearborn Administrative Center, Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 19th District Court and the Dearborn Ice Skating Center will be closed on Memorial Day.

All three branches of the Dearborn Public Library will be closed for the three days of the holiday weekend.

All city buildings will reopen with normal business hours on May 30.
