Former CEO of Ford Land to give keynote address
SOUTHGATE — The Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber of Commerce will host the Women of Achievement Awards luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Holiday Inn Conference & Banquet Center in Southgate, 17201 Northline Road.
The event will showcase women in business in the Downriver region. The event will include a keynote address by Donna Inch, former CEO and chairwoman of Dearborn-based Ford Land.
The keynote will be followed by a lunch, and an ceremony featuring award recipient videos.
The SWCRC will recognize women in the region with Leadership, Entrepreneur and Unsung Heroine awards. Men will not be left out as the chamber will honor a leader in the region who is a champion for women in business leadership with the Community Award.
“We are honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to recognize some of the most influential women in our Downriver region with this prestigious awards luncheon,” SWCRC President Ronald J. Hinrichs said.
This year’s recipients include Kathy Kane, publisher of the Trenton Trib newspaper and owner of Trenton-based Market Insights, LLC, recipient of the Leadership Award; Laurie Dixon, owner of Savannah’s restaurant in Trenton, recipient of the Entrepreneur Award; Leah Cooley of Services to Enhance Potential, a local nonprofit agency, recipient of the Unsung Heroine Award; and Stan Jensen, president of Henry Ford College in Dearborn, recipient of the Community Award.
