DEARBORN — Badri Hashim of Dearborn died July 29 as a passenger in a vehicle that crashed into a pole on Telegraph and Laskey roads in Toledo.

According to The Blade, police said the driver of the small pickup truck ran into a traffic light pole at the intersection of Telegraph and Laskey roads and North Detroit Avenue at 3 a.m.

Hashim, 24, died at the scene and the driver was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Lucas Country Coroner James Patrick said Hashim died from head and chest injuries.

Police shut down the area for a few hours to investigate the scene and have not released details on what led up to the crash.
