August 24, 2018 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN – The city’s trash pickup schedule will be delayed by one day for the week of Sept. 3 to 7 due to the Labor Day holiday.

Labor Day is Sept. 3.

Trash will be picked up Tuesday through Saturday. Homes with regular Monday trash pickups will be serviced on Tuesday; homes with regular Tuesday trash pickups will be serviced on Wednesday, and so on.

The Dearborn Administrative Center, Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 19th District Court and the Dearborn Ice Skating Center will be closed on Labor Day.

All three branches of the Dearborn Public Library will be closed during the entire Labor Day weekend from Sept. 1 to 3. The libraries will begin fall hours on Sept. 4. In addition to regular weekday and Saturday hours, Henry Ford Centennial Library will be open from  1 to 5 p.m. Sundays during the school year.

The DISC also will be closed early at 2 p.m. on Sept. 1 and 2.

City buildings will reopen with normal business hours on Sept. 4.

Public Service Days are not enforced on weeks in which a holiday disrupts the trash collection scheduled.

However, residents should keep parked vehicles off the streets whenever possible on trash day and usual Public Service Day.
