DEARBORN –  Poll workers are needed for the Nov. 6 general election, City Clerk George Darany said.

Candidates should be at least 18 years of age, registered voters in Michigan and have basic computer skills. Students who are 16 or 17 years old also may apply.

The position pays $130 for the day and an additional $20 for attending the pre-election instruction class in the week preceding the election. Morning, afternoon and evening class options will be offered.

The hours of work are from 6:15 a.m. until about 9 p.m. on Election Day.

Duties of the job include helping with the setup of election equipment, processing voters, offering instructions, saving reports on the computer and assisting with closing the polls.

Interested parties are encouraged to apply soon at the City Clerk’s Office in the Dearborn Administrative Center, 16901 Michigan Ave.
