DEARBORN – The Martian Invasion of Races will return to Dearborn for its 14th running April 13.
This “out of this world” fitness event brings over 6,000 runners, walkers and Martians of all ages and abilities to cover 5K, 10K, half marathon, 26K, full marathon or kids’ marathon. The flat and fast course starts and finishes at Ford Field Park.
Registration fees range from $34 to $79 through Feb. 27, $39 to $89 from Feb. 28 to noon April 11, and $45 to $100 afterward.
The invasion weekend kicks off with a free health and fitness expo at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center from 3 to 8 p.m. April 12.
The event charity partner, Game On Cancer, provides assistance to patients that removes barriers to cancer care — including groceries, living expenses, prescriptions and transportation. A portion of each entry fee from the Invasion will go to Game On Cancer.
Another portion of all entry fees also goes to supporting Dearborn Recreation and Parks.
An entry to the Martian Invasion of Races includes a custom shirt, a cosmic glitter filled Martian head finisher medal, post race party and snacks and live music.
The Martian Invasion of Races is open to the public. Participants may register online at www.martianraces.com until noon April 11. Late registration is available at the Martian expo on April 12 as well as at the race site Saturday morning for a higher price.
