Tickets on sale for live NPR storytelling show
DEARBORN – Tickets are on sale for a performance of “The Moth Mainstage” at 7:30 p.m. June 1 at Michael A. Guido Theater, 15801 Michigan Ave.
“The Moth” is an acclaimed not-for-profit organization dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. “The Moth” is heard on public radio stations and as a podcast.
“The Moth Mainstage, presented in cooperation with Michigan Radio,” is a curated event featuring a host and five hand-picked storytellers from across the country who develop and shape their stories with “The Moth’s” directors and then share them with audiences.
These true stories are told live on stage without notes. Take a step back to a time when stories weren’t shown on television, movie or computer screens, but instead were shared by word of mouth.
“The Moth” podcast is downloaded over 44 million times a year, and each week, the Peabody Award-winning “The Moth Radio Hour,” produced by Jay Allison and presented by PRX, The Public Radio Exchange, is heard on over 450 radio stations worldwide.
Tickets, ranging in price from $35 to $75, are available at www.dearborntheater.com and at the theater box office, open from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
