DEARBORN — A Dearborn police officer was injured in a crash April 3 at the intersection of Schaefer and Ford roads.

The officer was responding to the scene of a traffic stop about 8:15 p.m. to assist other officers in a rollover crash. WDIV Channel 4 reported that the suspect being arrested during the traffic stop was under surveillance for a serious crime.

As the officer drove through the intersection at Ford Road he became involved in a crash with a Dearborn Heights resident driving a Cadillac Escalade.

According to police, the officer was transported to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries. The Dearborn Heights resident was not injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
