April 30, 2019 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN — Police arrested a suspect in the rash of apartment break-ins at The Union at Dearborn, 780 Town Center Drive.

The Dearborn Police Department had received multiple reports of burglaries of unsecured apartments at the complex over the last several weeks.

Investigators developed a suspect, who was arrested without incident April 17 near the complex. The suspect is currently being detained for absconding parole. Charges for the thefts at The Union at Dearborn are expected in the coming days, police said.

“The one common thread in all of these crimes was the suspect entered an unlocked apartment,” Police Chief Ronald Haddad said. “Your safety is our top priority. Please remember to lock your doors and do not hesitate to report suspicious activity.”

Anybody with information regarding this incident is urged to call Dearborn police at 313-943-2242 or if they wish to remain anonymous they can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
