Dearborn Rouge River clean-up

Volunteers clean up trash near the Rouge River during the annual Friends of the Rouge Rouge Rescue May 18 at Henry Ford College. The Friends held three cleanups at HFC, Ford Field Gateway Trail and University of Michigan-Dearborn where volunteers removed garlic mustard, honeysuckle and overgrowth; conducted trail maintenance and wood debris management; and spread wood chips onto foot paths. Friends of the Rouge was founded in 1986 to raise awareness about the need to clean up the Rouge River, according to the organization’s website.
